This year we are delighted that our summer Shakespeare play is the perfect seasonal comedy “The Taming of The Shrew”.

This is the fifth year of outdoor Shakespeare and each year it has grown so we are especially delighted to be adding new venues this season.

This year we have many of our regular performers returning for our Summer Shakespeare with some new faces performing this years ‘Taming of the Shrew’.

Outdoor Event Information

Now we can promise you a fantastic show, but as this is England we cannot promise the weather so please make sure that you check the forecast and dress for the weather. It is also worth noting that even in the Midsummer Nights it can get very cold once the sun goes down so warm clothes and a blanket are a good idea.

All venues except for Witherley Church are lawn seating so please bring picnic blanket and / or camping chairs. You are welcome to bring a picnic at all outdoor venues – in fact we would encourage it. Also feel free to bring alcohol, a bottle of bubbly or perhaps a Pimms the choice is yours. However please not that for the performance at the venue all drinks must be purchased form the Brewery.

It occupies the site of a former Benedictine Monastery that dates back to 1792 and is set in 200 acres of land in this stunning Warwickshire setting. Polesworth Abbey is another stunning jewel in the heritage of North Warwickshire and the old school house may well have seen a young William Shakespeare attend classes for a period of time. It was certainly where poet Michael Drayton was educated. Our production takes place in the walled gardens of the Abbey which slope down the pastures towards the River Anker.
